Wholesale Kitchenware: How To Choose Pans

Wholesale kitchenware can be difficult to select if you don’t know what to look for in the products you wish to purchase. Read more and learn how to choose pan sets, depending on their different features.

Pan Coatings

Here are the two types of coatings to keep in mind when looking for pans.

Non-stick

The majority of pans made of stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminium have a non-stick coating. This coating is perfect for making sauces and frying, as it doesn’t require any additional fat and it prevents food from sticking to the pan, which makes it incredibly easy to clean the pan afterwards. It’s important to be careful when selecting the pan’s coating, since quality often varies. Search for pans that have branded coatings and which come with a guarantee. Using abrasive scourers and metal utensils on non-stick pans can do serious damage to their finish.

Enamel

Enamel is typically used as a coating for cast iron, stainless steel, and aluminium pans. Costs vary depending on the metal applied to the pan. This type of coating helps protect pans against reacting badly with food and against scratching. Even so, enamel pans can still chip when not handled properly. Heat is often an issue for enamel, as this coating’s quite thin and it might lead to food sticking to the pan and burning.

Pan Features

When looking for a pan, it’s essential to be aware of the following:

Does it have a flat base?

This feature is extremely helpful for electric cooking since the pan can cover the hob ring without wasting any heat.

Does its lid fit?

The lid should both fit well and allow steam to escape.

Does it have a stay-cool handle and knob?

The handle should be long and thick in order to keep the pan balanced, but it should also be lightweight. Stay-cool technology makes the pan safe to touch while cooking.

Does it have pouring lips on both sides?

This feature is ideal for both left handed and right handed cooks.

Is it oven-proof?

Only multi-purpose pans are safe to be put in the oven. You should also look for the maximum temperature for the pan.

Is it dishwasher-proof?

The pans that have stainless steel and plastic knobs and handles are typically dishwasher-safe, but the ones which have wooden knobs and handles are not. Keep in mind that washing pans in the dishwasher will considerably shorten their lifespan, though, causing the coating to peel.

Does its handle have holes?

This feature is perfect for hanging up the pan and saving cupboard space.
